A T E L I E R M E L U S I N E will reopen its doors to visitors with the exhibition LOCKDOWN. This specifically curated show features work by Carl Abrahamsson, Annie Abrahams, Annett & Annett-Parish, Nadia Perrotta and Lesly Pierrepaul. It deals with experiences connected directly to the COVID 19 pandemic; confinement in a digital age, suffocation and the salvation of breath and breathing, the reality of suffering from poor political leadership during a crisis and the mystical elements around illness and hypoxemia.

Une fois la porte fermée, on est confronté au bruit troublant d’une personne qui s’efforce de respirer et à un rythme cardiaque rythmé mais déformé… Inutile de dire que ce n’est pas un espace confortable. …
… Ici, dans cette galerie, le processus normalement inconscient de la respiration est soudain au premier plan, au centre et urgent dans sa “nullité” râpeuse. Review by Elizabeth Stewart.

Dans Rencontre Pandémique, son, 4.50 min, Annie Abrahams a mélangé ses respirations avec des battements de coeur déformés générés par ordinateur. Le fichier sonore a été utilisé le 23 mai 2020 dans Pandemic Encounters, une installation de performance en réseau de Paul Sermon en collaboration avec Randall Packer, Gregory Kuhn, le Third Space Network et les conférences de Leonardo Laser.
